Duplie will automatically send out email and/or text/SMS reminders to users signed up.  By default, we send them out 23 hours prior to their sign-up.  You can change this setting in your configuration under Event Signup Reminder Hours.  How a volunteer receives the reminder is up to them.  Each user has the ability to turn on/off reminders as email or text.  By default, email is turned on.

Email Reminders

When reminder emails are sent, they will include the event name, description, date, start/end time along with any additional sign up information you have on the event.  Also, if you have check-in instructions, those will also be included in the reminder email.  There will also be a link on the email to add the event to their Google calendar or iCal (Outlook, Apple, etc.).

In the case where an event is set to ask the user to confirm their sign up on the reminder, we will also send a link for them to 'Confirm' or 'Cancel' their sign-up.

Text/SMS reminders

Text/SMS reminders will have the event name, date and time sent as a text to the user.

In the case where an event is set to ask the user to confirm their sign up on the reminder, we will also ask them in the text message to respond with  'confirm' or 'cancel'.  The volunteer can simply respond to the text message and Duplie will record their confirmation.
