Many organizations have a need for volunteers to check in or out from their volunteer service to track their hours.  The idea is to make this as easy as possible.  If a volunteer is signed up for an event, they can check in, but it is not required to give them credit for their hours.  It's just a way to more accurately track their hours spent.  So if a volunteer checks in for a shift at 8:10am that is scheduled from 8-10am, but they forget to check out -they would get credit for service from 8:10 - 10am.  If they do check out, we will use their actual check out time as it is more accurate.

There are 3 different ways to allow check-ins, depending on your preference.

  1. Administrator Check-Ins: Have an administrator enable a device on-site at the event.  Volunteers would then go to that device and enter their phone number or email to lookup their account.  After finding their account they can check-in for the sign-up.  They would need to go through the same process to check-out.
  2. Self Check-Ins: You can create a kiosk which will allow check-ins.  Print the QR Code generated for the kiosk and have it at the event to scan on a smartphone, or enable a device.
  3. Self Check-In via text/SMS: Volunteers can send a text/SMS message "Checkin" to your instance's phone number and we can check them in for service.
